Seminars and Workshops

This highly interactive, inspiring, and informative seminar is the cornerstone of what we do. It is a full-day experience that is perfect for all content areas and grade levels.

There is strong emphasis on improving student engagement through the development of creative presentations. Teachers will leave motivated, inspired, and with the tools and skills needed to draw students into the curriculum like a magnet. It is currently a required class for all second year teachers in the Grossmont Union High School District and has drawn rave reviews from experienced teachers, as well.

We will provide a full catalog description that will insure a full room and most likely a waiting list. Due to the workshop nature of the afternoon session, the ideal number of participants is approximately 40. Larger groups can be accommodated under special circumstances.

This is a follow-up workshop designed to reinforce and build upon the skills developed and taught during the Outrageous Teaching seminar. It is best scheduled after teachers have had the opportunity to work with the Outrageous Teaching materials and ideas in their own classroom. This follow-up is completely optional since Outrageous Teaching is a complete seminar on its own.

This is an incredibly high-energy 60-70 minute presentation drawn from the opening section of the Outrageous Teaching seminar. It is a transformative message about how and why to become more passionate, enthusiastic, and creative in the classroom. There is a very high entertainment value as key points are driven home through the use of both humor and magic.

Dave can work with your school or organization to custom design a powerful presentation based on your needs. This can include a special “performance origami” segment where each participant follows along and learns a unique origami fold that reveals YOUR message as it is progressively folded. This ends with a powerful moment where all participants will have a finished origami creation that moves and reinforces your key content.
